Our Work
The FVISS has three main focuses of work:
- Operations
- Coordination
- Outreach
Operations make up the bulk of our work. We work with partners around the region to manage, treat, and remove invasive plants.
Since invasive species do not recognize borders, managing them requires coordinating with different landowners in order to ensure effective management across jurisdictions, and being prepared for potential invasive species from surrounding areas.
The most important step for invasive species management is prevention. Therefore, public outreach is very important. We attend public outreach events, and host workshops to share knowledge about invasive species throughout the Fraser Valley.
